Marina Dessiatkina - Producer

She graduated from the Russian Television & Radio Institute in Moscow in Television Documentary Directing, and later on completed her formal filmmaking training at the New York Film Academy. Marina is also the founder and program director of Culterra Magica Arts and Culture Enrichment Program, and a Director at the Business, Arts, and Culture Integration Centre (BACIC), a non-profit Toronto organization dedicated to promoting arts, culture, and facilitating the integration of new immigrant artists into the Canadian art community. Marina has directed several documentaries, one of which, The Great Arctic Adventure was acquired by the United Nations for its unique public video archive. One of her most recent works was a story research and development for a feature project titled The_Forbiddance that was showcased as one of the 30 best Russian films of the year at the 2015 Moscow International Film Festival. Luc: Gone With The Sun is her first documentary project after a long period of time, since she immigrated to Canada in 1998. She is currently working as a guest Director/Producer for a documentary series I’M POSSIBLE produced by Ethnic Channels Group Productions (Toronto) and funded by the Canadian Media Fund.
